Scope of Service

The Eye Department at Thonburi Thawi Watthana Hospital provides comprehensive care for eye and vision problems, from accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment to long-term follow-up. We have a team of specialized ophthalmologists in each field, experienced medical staff, and state-of-the-art ophthalmic technology. To provide patients with the safest and most effective care for chronic eye diseases, pediatric eye diseases, general visual conditions, and complex diseases of the retina and optic nerve.

Services of the Ophthalmology Department:

Cataract Department

Assessment of lens opacity and provision of cataract surgery using internationally standardized technology. Various intraocular lenses are available to suit each patient.

Glaucoma Department

Care for patients with high intraocular pressure or all types of glaucoma, along with monitoring of optic nerve and visual field pathology.

Cornea & Ocular Surface Department

Treatment of conjunctivitis, keratitis, severe dry eye, and corneal infections.

Retina & Vitreous Department

Care for patients with all types of retinal diseases, such as:

  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Macular degeneration
  • Retinal detachment
  • Retinal occlusive disease
  • Vitreous hemorrhage

Equipped with imaging technology, scanning, and retinal injection treatments.

Pediatric & Strabismus Department

Provides pediatric eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment of strabismus, amblyopia, and other eye function disorders.

Oculoplastic Department

Treats ptosis (drooping eyelids), tear duct blockage, eyelid growths/polyps, and surgical correction.

Additional Eye Services

Uveitis

Optic nerve disorders such as double vision and facial muscle spasms.
